Hi,
the answer to your question is no. They were not accepted by either the Jews or
the early church. There are reasons why as outlined here:

When God gave the Menorah in the Holy Place of the Tabernacle, it was
representative of the word of God which gives light. If you have a look you will
see it has 66 'decorations' on it split into 39 on the first 4 arms and 27 on
the last three arms. This corresponds to the 39 books of the Old Testament and
27 books in the New Testament. We shouldn't be trying to add or subtract more!
